Soooo, it’s been a wild ride! What a fantastic summer…I couldn’t have asked for more. Why the silence? Honestly, I have been asking myself the same question. I haven’t had the mental or emotional bandwidth to shake down the answer- until now. I disengaged from blogging and social media almost unconsciously (and coincidentally) during the summer solstice…
June 21st, or the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, found me and my pod playing in the gulf waters on the Florida west coast. On the longest day in which the sun seems to stand still, I was enjoying my place with my people. It was the intersection of my past and present-a convergence of what was and what is- and wow, was it sweet. So sweet, I wanted to stay in that dreamy place (without twitter, facebook, Instagram…) for a long, long time.
I almost pulled it off. We stayed at the beach for a little while longer. Hung out with the fam. Came home. Spent many afternoons with the kids by the pool. I began several draft posts and finished none of them. And then… school started. Back to a schedule, carpool, and packing lunches. This transition is never my favorite, but thankfully, this year has felt less painful for our entire family. Man, am I grateful.
Sure, I had to intentionally check back into reality (and social media) after our blissful summer solstice came to end. But like so many of the in-between spaces of our lives, I have been surprised by the joy of unexpected new beginnings- revamped goals, fresh perspective, and new friends. I think it’s safe to say that I’m back, and I’m ready! I can’t wait to continue the Onehappymango journey together.
My cup runneth over..
