Hey there, friends! Sorry it has been so long! Summer is in full swing around here, and we are loving it! The last few weeks have been a flurry of plane trips, swimming, endless bowls of watermelon, and road trips. We are finally in south Florida, and it is good to be home. Summer is my favorite time of year- the sunshine and warm water refresh my soul. There’s nothing like watching my kids wave jump, stalk sea birds, and build drippy sandcastles to make me belly laugh.
With this rush of joy comes a wave of reflection. I want to live, love, parent with intention-even if it just means packing a fierce picnic lunch. But what does that look like today? As we vacate the daily routine and step back from the heaviness that seems to greet us with each news day, what does that mean? Now?
I don’t really know, but I sense my directive, for now at least, is to listen- and hold fast. Listen to life. Lean hard into the quietness, while clinging to the truth of God’s character. So, with a measure of focused determination, I will wiggle my piggies in the sand and listen…
